Continuing the theme of planning for the New Year, (shocker to those who refer to me as a non-planner type C, rather than type A or B haha), I put together a little list of books I hope to read in 2014. Not because I am much of a planner, but because I aspire toward intentionality. You know how all those things you’d love to do/need to do/hope to do, often just don’t seem to happen unless you’re intentional about them? Yep, same here!
When putting these things down on paper etc., I actually like to think of my plans/dreams/goals as less of a list and more of a sparkly set of possibilities, in journal form — that way I can refer back & see just what it was I was dreaming of but haven’t gotten around to for so long that I may have forgotten whatever it was in the first place. We big dreamer types sometimes just need a little help keeping track of all our dreams 😉 We can also look back later and reminisce over/be thankful for something we did/read/said 12 months ago.
What works for all of us is as different as we are, but it’s fun to learn from each other and even be inspired by one another’s ideas. So here is what I hope to read, learn from, and be inspired by in the upcoming year. Some are books I’ve more recently had recommended to me and some are books I’ve been wanting to read for quite awhile. But all are books I have read about & heard about, that I think could add value to my life, my writing, or my parenting.
What about you? What would you like to read in the next year? Have you heard of or read any books on this list? On a related note, Stay tuned for Book Reviews beginning very soon!

Hi Jenni, thanks so much for stopping by! Love it – If you think about it, come back and leave a link here to your post, below my comment – when you’re done writing yours! : )
Very cool! I love to read but just haven’t had the time lately in the last few years. My husband just got me a Nook for Christmas and now I love sneaking away for a few minutes here and there to read a chapter! Reading helps me be better writer as well as it’s relaxing! Great list – and great goal with being intentional.
Thanks so much for visiting Nicole! I can completely relate when it comes to finding time to read & I also hope to grow in my writing ability as I read more in the new year! Have fun with your new Nook!
I really want to read A Million Little Ways, too – it looks so inspiring. And I’m going to have to check out those blogging books, especially the one on writing! Thanks for the recommendations 🙂
I have only read one of these books. It’s a great list, I was a little nosy stopping over here because I did my own 2014 reading list on my blog yesterday, and was curious to see if we had any similar books. I’m hoping that by writing it down it will keep me accountable.
Yes, I was really hoping that by writing mine down, it would keep me accountable too! I’m so glad you stopped by, please come back again! Happy reading to you!
Thanks Christina, that is great to hear as I have yet to read those three books. Looking forward to it all the more after hearing your feedback! I learned about some compelling books to add to my reading wish list from you today, in fact I did exactly that! Thanks for your recommendations : )
We have some of the same books on our lists! I will be posting mine next week. 🙂

I am currently reading a Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers. It is a good read, I hope to read some more books like this one this year.
I have heard about Francine Rivers’ books and always wanted to read one (or more)!! Thanks for inspiring me with that, happy reading!!
Give them grace is a favorite of mine! Glimpses of Grace is excellent and I enjoyed 7 as well. Such a great list you have here!
