Remember when I told you about my recent wake up call that reminded me of my need for balance I had too often ignored? After quite possibly the longest winter ever, and all that pesky business of being a grown up – I sometimes found myself trying to power through all. the. hard. things. by my own strength, rather than indulging in the grace that is always there, should I choose to accept it. Other times I simply found myself so dang distractible, completely immersed in one area of life, while letting oh so many other areas of life fall by the wayside.
A sense of balance waned.
Then today happened.
Sunshine, fresh air, and warm breezes happened. A break from the typical routine happened. A whole day spent with friends replaced a normal day of responsibilities and wouldn’t you know it? I sure as sunshine found myself rejuvenated and refreshed!
It’s not always an option to take a day to re-set like we were blessed to do today, but what a relief to know we are set free from guilt and encouraged in Scripture to claim rest and restoration as our own, “And He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest awhile. For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.” Mark 6:31
How do you create space for margin in your life? What works for you when life feels out of balance?
I love this! I am constantly struggling for balance. Life has changed so much for my family lately,so things have been thrown out of whack and we’re still looking. I’ll let you know when I find it!
