Today I am writing to tell you more about myself and this space called She Lives Free. I am so looking forward to getting to know each of you and am very much hoping you will tell me about you and/or your blog in the comments! My name is Sybil and I am a homeschooling mom, wife, and licensed counselor turned blogger.
I have been married for twelve years to my high school sweetheart and we are blessed with two beautiful girls we adore. I’m crazy about cappuccino, sunshine, warm weather and finding the beauty in each new day (no matter what the weather)! The beach is my happy place, where’s yours? 🙂
I believe in living and giving with abundance & intention. I believe in living life on purpose & making each day count. I believe there is beauty in the broken. I write at She Lives Free because I love sharing my faith, thoughts on marriage and parenting, home and garden projects, and my passion for all things good and beautiful!
I also appreciate the opportunity to advocate for the least of these through blog partnerships with Compassion, Gospel for Asia, World Help and LifeSong for Orphans
It’s been nearly six months since this baby blog was born and I have so enjoyed watching it grow since. I honestly never planned to become a blogger but I am a true people person who loves to talk so blogging has been a great outlet to communicate and connect with others. My hope is for this space to serve as a platform for friends to stay in touch, to form new connections with people I’ve not yet met, and to document all that I want to remember in the living of this amazing life.
She Lives Free is here to encourage living life on purpose, to the glory of God. You will find posts here sharing both the broken and the beautiful moments in life. She Lives Free is a place for exploring what it looks like to live free, through the freedom found in Christ alone. Sometimes we talk about learning to live a life of abundant health as we seek balance and wellness. Often we discuss the joys of giving, volunteering, advocacy and even what it means to raise raise servant-hearted kids. Those themes will sometimes lead to deeper discussion on global issues like orphan care, adoption, foster care, and modern day slavery. There’s also no shortage of the fun stuff to be found here like gardening, crafts, fashion, photography, and even a regular friday favorites feature! I would love for you to join us on this journey, please feel free to connect via facebook, and introduce yourself! We have fun staying in touch and doing life together over there! If Facebook is not your thing, you can also follow along on Twitter, Pinterest, Google Plus, and feedburner, or even through the subscribe box on the right! Wherever you choose to connect, the one thing I want to be sure you know is, I want to know you! I love sharing stories and truly want to hear yours!
And whatever you do, don’t miss the six month anniversary blog post full of giveaways coming in just over a week! April will be a fun month at She Lives Free as a brand new link up will also be launching right after Easter. I am so excited to be co-hosting Make A Difference Mondays with a group of amazing women every Monday beginning April 21st! We hope you will join us if you’re a blogger and we hope our readers will read along for ideas to make a difference! Our vision is to inspire intentionality and encourage one another as we seek opportunities to serve others. Stop back soon for the Make A Difference Monday introductory blog post for all the details!
Hi, Sybil! I’m stopping by from the Influence forum. First of all, WELCOME to blogging. I know you’ve already been at it for six months, but it probably still feels so brand new, huh? Lots to learn and take in. I’ve been at this for about three or four years now and I still feel like I haven’t yet scratched the surface of all blogging has to offer. Second, LOVED reading this and getting to know you a little better. You seem to be so full of life and have such a big heart for doing good! Also love your idea for “Make a Difference Mondays”. Will be adding it to my blog’s “Link Up”, which reminds me to join blog parties, as well as helps other bloggers find new places to link up.
Alana! Thank you so much for visiting and for all your encouragement! YES, even at 6 months, I feel like I’ve only just begun and there is SO much to learn, but it’s good. And I’m grateful. : )
Thanks for sharing. I work closely with Lifesong for our non-profit. I am blown away by the organization. They have been amazing for the past two years we’ve been working together. I can relate to several things about you. We are highly considering home schooling and my two children are adopted. So I look forward to reading your blog!
That is so very neat, thanks for sharing! Yes, I have written just a little on homeschooling so far, but plan to write more. Blessing to you in your journey!
Nice to meet you! I really admire the foster care workers out there. I used to volunteer with CASA, and would love to be a foster parent someday 🙂
So nice to meet you and that is awesome Elise! I would love to be a foster parent some day too : )
Wow! You’ve only been blogging for six months? I’m impressed! As always, love getting to know you better. 🙂
