Hey there and welcome to another edition of Make A Difference Mondays where we get intentional about starting our weeks focused on the positive and put our heads together to dream up ways we can make a difference in this world!
Today I am excited to share with you an amazing opportunity to make a difference that we can all be a part of together! I want to tell you about one of the most positive, sweet little girls I am privileged to have in my life. Her name is Emma Becker and she is a brave eight year old warrior fighting cancer. Since the beginning, she has approached this fight with incredible perseverance, courage, and hope! Emma and her amazing mom are two of the most optimistic, hope-filled people you could ever want to meet. But even the bravest warriors get scared sometimes.
According to Emma’s mom, “the chemo is taking a toll on her tiny frame. Her adorable pixie hair that was growing is now falling out again. New lower extremity pain is painful and affecting her ability to walk. As such, she has had to miss going to school and that isolation is affecting her emotionally. She is lethargic and sad. New pain medications are making her sleepy and groggy. The residual effects of the recent steroids still have her bloated and puffy. Physical pain is leading to immense emotional pain”.
Many times when we hear about stories like this we find ourselves wishing there was something we could do, yet feeling so helpless. Well today, I want to empower you with a small way you can help that would make a big difference in the life of one little girl who truly needs our encouragement! Let’s bombard Emma with cards to brighten her days and lift her spirits! Please write to Emma, YOU can help give her more strength to fight! Send mail to:

Whether you choose to send a card or not, please pray. Emma believes in God and the power of prayer! Thankful for the promise of Scripture which tells us, “if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”
Please also share this message with others! Shout it from the rooftops, share this blog post, tweet out a message, whatever you do best, let us each do that! Let’s surround Emma with tangible expressions of love from around the world! If you have children, please consider inviting them to make a picture to send to Emma. One of the best ways to invest in our children is to teach them to invest in others! This is a great opportunity to do just that!
Be sure to subscribe by email, if you’d like to be a part of this weekly Make A Difference Mondays project and much more! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, please let me know in the comments if you plan to join us to make a difference in the life of Emma Becker this week! I wish I could thank and hug each one of you in person, but instead please accept a big virtual {{HUG}} and do come hang out with me in the comments where I’ll be passing out virtual cookies! 😉
