Hey hey and welcome to another edition of Make A Difference Mondays where we get intentional about starting our weeks focused on the positive and put our heads together to dream up ways we can make a difference in this world!
So I’ve had it on my heart for awhile now to get more intentional about the way I interact with customer service folks on any given day. Sure, like most of us, I make an effort to ask how they’re doing when I am asked how I am. Sometimes I may even ask first. I smile, say hello and so on. But I am so often distracted and preoccupied with what is going on in my own life, I don’t often strike up much of a conversation. All despite my true desire to really see and know the people I cross paths with.
Hebrews 13:2 NLT says, “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it.” Wow! Most of us are captivated by this knowledge, yet how often do really stop to think about it? How often do we imagine that each time we interact with a stranger is not by accident, but a possibility for a divine appointment?
A big goal of mine right now is to live life more intentionally and this week, I am choosing to intentionally keep Hebrews 13:2 at the forefront of my mind, act on it, and be ready for whatever God has planned! If this is something you have done before or are inspired to join me in this week, would you let me know below, in the comments?
Make A Difference Mondays is a weekly linkup designed to encourage and inspire us to live each day on purpose—making a meaningful difference in someone’s life in even the smallest of ways. There will be five women regularly co-hosting this link-up that will appear on all five of our blogs and we also have three wonderful co-hosts who will fill in as guest hosts on the occasional day that a regular co-host is not able to post. Read on to learn more about our vision, mission, and how to link up!
Also, just a heads-up: the Make A Difference Mondays team has created two fun new ways to keep us all connected! Now we have our own facebook community group to stay in touch beyond the blog posts AND we also have a new #MADMlinkup group Pinterest board and we will be pinning our favorite posts from the linkup that inspire and encourage us to make a difference. We are so grateful for you and would love for all of you to join us for fellowship in the above linked community group and you can follow the Pinterest board right here to watch for your posts:
Be sure to grab the sparkly image above or grab the same image in the square version from the sidebar for your posts and/or include a link back here within your posts. Any on-topic posts are welcomed, no matter how old and no matter how many! And before you leave, you’ll want to subscribe by email if you’d like to keep up with this weekly Make A Difference Mondays project and much more!
Great initiative Sybil, and a great ministry to people often overlooked in our day-to-day interactions.
Thanks Jen! Happy Monday : )
Ahhh yes, customer service. I certainly have a love hate relationship with them. I definitely get a little heated sometimes and try to let them know I am not actually mad at them but the situation 🙂
Ah yes I’m sure they get that alot, so I’m sure it often feels like a thankless job to them. I just try to think about how I would feel if it were me in that role, often not really feeling seen or understood. How nice of you to take the time to make sure to let them know it’s not about them, but the situation!
Being intentional or intentionally attentive is so important. This is something I need to try every week! You are right how our own lives distract us from truly reaching out in all circumstances. Thanks for the reminder, Sybil!
Mary you are such a sweetheart! I so appreciate your consistent feedback and encouragement! Thank you for the blessing that you are : ) xo
Thank you so much for linking up with Coffee for Your Heart! I’m so grateful for your words. XO
Thank you so much Holley! So appreciate your visit!
You can’t go wrong with meditating on God’s word and hiding it in your heart. How awesome to have His words at the forefront of your thoughts for intentional living. Thanks for linking up to WYWW. Please join us again tomorrow!
Thanks for that encouragement Leslie! Appreciate you so much!
Intentional living, yes! This has been a word that keeps coming back to me, intentional. Like you, I find that when I step forward and intentionally react to others with a purpose to show I am interested it makes a huge difference. Often they are surprised that I even care about how they are feeling. Or even the act of smiling and saying hello just brightens someone’s day. Thanks for the reminder to be intentionally purposed to entertain those angels that He has sent to bring blessings!
Bless you sweet friend~!
Oh Dawn may you be blessed for your sweet & intentional living as well! You are such a bright light of encouragement and I truly appreciate your thoughts and your presence!
