It’s been awhile, so hey … Let’s talk about life currently, shall we?
Thinking about // The sad, bad news I got this week that seemed to hang over my head like a dark cloud, all the live long week. Why is it we let things get to us so much, though we are clearly, specifically instructed to give thanks in all circumstances, for THIS IS the Lord’s will? Working on this. Thankful for grace and for Scripture to point me in the right direction.
Reading // Make A Difference Monday blog posts. So encouraged & inspired by these ladies!
Watching // Back to school signs & supplies coming out of the woodwork. That too might be making me a little grumpier than it should … but let’s be real – I always hate when this happens! Retailers of American, can’t we just enjoy summer a little longer while it lasts?! 😉
Thankful for // A day off for my hardworking, handsome husband after several weeks of working seven days straight, and a few more weeks like that yet to come. We spent the day at Deer Creek state park with family and camped out the night before together. There may have even been some shameless Christmas in July shenanigans going down…
How are you? Anything going on with you lately you’d like to share?
I’m so sorry to hear about your bad news this week, Sybil! It is definitely difficult to give thanks in all circumstances. I could use a lot of work in that area as well. Love seeing Santa in July! It looks like you had some great family camping time. That Princess Within camp seems amazing. What a gift to your daughters. I bet they got a lot out of it. I hope for much better news for you this week :)!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, Candace! You are so sweet & I really appreciate you! By the way, I did get to post my blog hop post today!! ; )
I’m so sorry you had some bad sad news this week. Hoping that the day off with your husband renewed and refreshed you and that this new week is brighter. x
Thanks SO much Mandi! And thanks for visiting She Lives Free!!
Bad new is so hard but God always uses it to strengthen our character and make us more like Jesus. I hope you feel our prayers!
Thank you so much Michelle! You are so sweet and so right, good word girl!!
Visiting your blog today from A Mama Collective. I’m so sorry about your bad news. It’s always hard to receive that kind of information, and it’s always hard to find blessings or to give thanks through those kinds of times. It’s something that I’m sure a lot of us struggle with. I’ll definitely be praying that you are able to power through it!
Awe you are so sweet, Brittany! Thanks so much for visiting She Lives Free and for your thoughtfulness & prayers : ) xo

Hi, Sybil,
I found you through the Influence Network. So nice to “meet” you:-).
I, too, got some sad news this week. It’s been a continually practice of opening my hands back up to “let” God be in control and let go of what I can’t. Not easy stuff.
So glad you got to spend some sweet quality time with your husband and the rest of the family! It looks like a great time:-).
Sarah so nice to meet you too! I sure appreciate your sweet, insightful words you left me here at She Lives Free. They’ve been an encouraging reminder of what a gift it is to encounter situations that leave us no choice but to lean that much more into His strength, rather than our own!
