Welcome to Make A Difference Mondays, a place to get intentional about starting our weeks focused on the positive and put our heads together to dream up ways we can make a difference in this world!
August 25th is my wedding anniversary. I’m blessed to be married to a wonderful man who protects and provides for me and I love to tell him how much I appreciate him every chance I get. But this is one area where there’s no such thing as ‘too much of a good thing’. We all get caught up in the daily rush so often, that important people in our lives can sometimes feel sidelined. But I want to be my man’s soft place to land, and if you’re married I’m guessing you do too! So let’s take time to let the ones we love know how much they are appreciated. We all have someone who needs to hear what a difference they make in our lives, and for me this week, that someone is my husband!
I read some wise words recently, “A man needs to know his wife still adores him and why. And saying it publicly = extremely awesome.”
I couldn’t agree more! So I give you, twenty of my favorite things about my husband.
{Start a list of your favorite things about your special someone in the comments, then be inspired to share them with him this week!}
1) He would give any stranger the shirt off his back
2) He is naturally that generous yet lacks a sense of entitlement for himself
3) He has a rock solid work ethic
4) He can turn any frown of mine upside down like nobody else
5) He can make the kids and me laugh like nobody else
6) His smile with his crinkly eye dimples make me melt
7) He parents his children with the perfect combination of sweet gentleness and rough & tumble play
8) Despite being a tech wizard and gently educating me on the perils of leaving dozens of internet tabs open, he has infinite patience for my continuing to do so, and overall lackluster tech skills… most of the time 😉
9) He sings karaoke like a boss!
10) He takes time to talk to and really see customer service staff
11) He helps homeless on the streets every chance he gets
12) Where I’m big-picture oriented, he’s detail focused
13) He encourages me to dream big and pursue my passions
14) If ever I’m doing dishes while he’s on the couch, he asks if I need help rather than sigh, turn up the TV, or something like that … he thinks of me first!
15) We share the same quirky, unique sense of humor
16) He notices the slightest of boo boos I’ve ever had on my body and always asks about them with the sweetest concern
17) I love that we can speak each other’s language and ‘get’ each other like nobody else
18) I love our inside jokes, most of which he started and maintain well!
19) He thanks me for dinner when I cook for him, even when it’s nothing special 🙂
20) He’s strongest in all the ways I’m not and vice versa. Though we have much in common and many similarities, we also complement and balance each other well in the ways we’re different. Oh, I’m one lucky girl!
Happy anniversary sweetheart! In the words of CS Lewis, “There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

Awww, Happy Anniversary! A good husband is a blessing and I agree that we should never stop trying to be our best for them. May God bless you with many more years of love and laughter!
Thank you so much for your kind words! You are so sweet!
Happy Anniversary! How we speak about our men publicly has a huge impact on our marriages. A list like this is a blessing to you both. Enjoy a wonderful day celebrating the blessing!
So true! Thanks for your words of wisdom and encouragement, Deb!
Happy Anniversary!!! I appreciate your heart for your marriage. “He may not be perfect, but he’s perfect fro me” is what I think a lot. On the bad days, I often think, “he’s being a bear, but he’s MY bear.” On days when I’m having a bad day, I appreciate how he still loves me, even thought I resemble the personality of a cactus! 🙂 🙂 Blessings to your marriage, Sybil.
Love that Kaylene! Thanks for sharing! : )
Happy Anniversary! Wishing you a beautiful one. I love how you brag on your hubby – I like to do the same. Marriage is the best place on earth, is it not? 🙂
Thanks Chantelle! Yes, marriage is an amazing blessing and I appreciate it tremendously!
Happy Anniversary! It is important to write those thoughts down.. it is necessary to romance each other once in a while and to remember why we are wallking together, why we started and how far we have come. We just celebrated our 21st and I can truly say, I love my husband more now than I did then. You see, I know God’s love now, unlike then, and so I am capable of giving him a love that is truer and deeper because not only do I love him for who he is but who God made him to be .
Bless you much, Sybil!
Dawn
Thanks Dawn! You’re the best : )
