Hi everyone! I’m Sarah, and I blog at Me Plus 3 Today. I’m so honored that Sybil has given me the opportunity to share with you the details about my new Virtual Assisting business I recently launched.

To begin, let me give you a little background on how this business came to be. In August of 2013, my husband passed away suddenly from complications due to bacterial meningitis. It was only a month after his 30th birthday, and our twin daughters were 19-months-old and our son was 4-months-old. Obviously, this set my life into a tailspin I never thought I’d have to experience.

At the time, I was working part-time as an engineer at an office furniture company. I continued to work there, but my heart just wasn’t in it. The events in my life had altered the way I thought and felt about certain things. One of which was that I no longer wanted to spend my time doing something I didn’t enjoy and didn’t find fulfilling.

So I started searching for a career that better aligned with my passion, which is helping others. I eventually decided to create the perfect career for myself, and began the process of launching a virtual services company. In January 2015, I resigned from my engineering position of nearly 8 years and Star Thrower Virtual Services officially opened for business!

The business is all about making a difference. The name, Star Thrower Virtual Services, is actually inspired by an essay written by Loren Eiseley, entitled The Star Thrower. But you might be more familiar with one of the many adaptions, which are typically titled The Starfish Story. The overall message is that every person has the ability to make a difference.

With this business, I am able to make a difference for my clients by helping them accomplish more. I take care of certain tasks, which allows them to focus on what they do best and what they are most passionate about. Additionally, I’ve set up the business to make a difference for communities because 5% of all proceeds are donated to a charitable or non-profit organization of the client’s choice.

making a difference

Even though I’ve only just begun, I am very excited about this new path I’ve created for myself. My first few clients have included building and designing a website, freelance writing for a non-profit organization’s blog, and transcription for a lifestyle coach. It is a wonderful feeling to actually be doing what I am passionate about!

I’d love the chance to make a difference for you. You can find more information about the services I offer and rates by clicking here to visit the Star Thrower Virtual Services website. You can also like the Facebook page or follow on Twitter. Thank you!
