It’s no secret how much I love all things natural and toxin free – whether food, body products, beauty products, you name it!  So when I discovered how many recipes can be adapted to add more nutritious ingredients in place of food additives that will wreak havoc on your body over time, I was all about it.  So what I want to share with you today includes no artificial sweeteners even though it is actually a dessert recipe!

These sweet treats are simple to whip up for any party or get-together.  They would even make a great gift idea for a Mother’s Day gift basket or to simply serve Mom with Mother’s Day dinner.  Read on to learn how to make Orange Cream Meltaways and be sure to print off your free printable below, especially if you decide to gift these little sweeties  😉

Ingredients

Base For One Flavor

• 1/2 cup coconut oil
• 1/2 cup coconut cream

*You can double the base amount if you’d like to make two different flavors*

For the Orange Cream

• 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• zest of one orange
• 3 drops of orange essential oil
• 2 teaspoons of dark pure maple syrup

Directions

Stir to combine the base with the orange cream in a small mixing bowl until smooth.  Place paper liners in a 12 mini muffin pan, and spoon the mixture evenly into each section.  Place the pan in the refrigerator or freezer to set, and serve cold.  Enjoy!

We loved these when made exactly as written above, but these are easily adaptable for other flavors like lemon or mint as well.  Simply substitute orange oil for lemon oil or peppermint oil and substitute orange zest for finely ground peppermint or lemon zest, if desired.  Click below to include a free printable recipe with a gift or to save for later for yourself.  Pinning this recipe is another great way to bookmark it for later too  🙂
