I’ve often thought how nice it would be to have more options to get the most encouraging truth I needed to see every day posted around my home, in an easily accessible way.  I used to write down scripture verses and inspiring quotes on index cards and tape them to my bathroom mirror just to have words of truth right where I needed them, when I needed them. You too?  🙂

Being a creative at heart, I’ve found it so fun to expand options – especially as my girls have grown older and I want to fill their minds with hope and point them to the truth every chance I get!  Here are four of my favorite ways to do just that and I’d love to hear your favorites in the comments below!

Wall Clings

We have some beautiful wall clings up in my daughter’s bathroom because within them, they hold an inspiring message.  The gift of perspective means alot to me, and I want my kids to always remember the truth in what these words read:

Chalk Lettering

My eyes have recently been opening to the gorgeous wonders of chalk lettering, (and hand lettering in general).  I follow an Instagram account no doubt you will love to for amazing chalk lettering inspiration. You have to see it to believe it – Becki’s #chalkboardlovenotes are so encouraging and uplifting to look at, so I can only imagine how nice it would be to do the same thing in my own home!  I may have an artist’s soul but my drawing skills seem to have stalled out at the preschool level.  But I don’t want to let them stop me from trying out a fun new hobby I’d really like to learn!  I found a new book I can hardly wait to try out with all the basics and more.  Here is the description from Amazon and link to check it out for yourself: The Complete Book of Chalk Lettering: Create and Develop Your Own Style In over 60 lessons, learn the ABCs of lettering (literally) and basic styles: serif, sans serif, and script. Next, how to lay out a design, combine various styles into one cohesive piece, add shadows and dimension. Master more advanced letter styles, from faceted to ribbon to “vintage circus.” Use banners, borders, flourishes. And finally, 12 projects to show off your newfound skills: including a Winter Wonderland Snow Globe; a smartphone-themed birthday card to text friends and family; a one-of-a-kind party invitation to create, photograph, and mail; and a bake sale sign guaranteed to put everyone who sees it in the mood for a cupcake!

Dear Dreamer: A letter to all those with big dreams in their hearts!

Mirror & Glass Art

So I have a new found love for chalkboard lettering – especially since I discovered it’s many uses for inspiring ways to decorate the walls of my home, right?  Well let’s just say reading directions is often not my strong suit – at first I tried this on my small, bistro sized chalkboard and it turns out that wasn’t such a good idea.  The surface was too porous so it absorbed the chalk marker and was super hard to get off.  Once I got it up on my mirror and the kids used it on our sliding glass door, we couldn’t have been happier!  Check out what Amazon says, about chalk markers here:

My kids have loved writing their own creative messages to love on their family on both the sliding door and car windows  😉 I decided to try my hand at posting encouraging Scripture right where I’ll see it first and last thing every day!

Traditional Wall Art

I shared a few of the pieces around my home that really speak life into me and fire me up when I’m looking for inspiration in my home tour a few months back – you can see that post here, as well as some examples below. If you love supporting small business owners, you can find thousands all gathered in one place over on Etsy!  A few of my favorite Etsy shops with a beautiful selection of affordable wall art are Brigette Turner, The Wheatfield, and Juliet Grace Design.
